It’s a fact that many auto repair shops see cars brought in that may not have been serviced as frequently as needed at the appropriate intervals. This is a scary thought if you start thinking of all the cars on the road that may need some form of auto repair services. With busy schedules, it is easy to forget how many miles it was since you last had you’re your car into your auto repair shop for an oil change or a tune up.

Look at the indicators listed below signally the need for auto repair services:

  • Dashboard warning lights. Paying attention to your car's on-board diagnostic system is essential for keeping your vehicle operating efficiently.
  • Oil spots under the car. Dark brown oil spots under your car indicate it is leaking motor oil. The problem could be as minor as the filter or drain plug not secured tightly or as big as a compromised gasket in the engine.
  • Greenish fluid under the car. Radiator fluid is leaking—possibly from a bad fitting on a hose or from a more major issue such as a cracked radiator. This could result in an overheating engine and cause permanent engine damage.
  • Noisy Brakes. High-pitched squealing, squeaking, or metal-on-metal grinding sounds are an indicator that pads, rotors, calipers, and discs have become worn out.
  • Louder than normal rumbling or sputtering from beneath the car. The exhaust system is having problems, such as a hole in the muffler or a bad catalytic converter.
  • Chirping or screeching from under the hood. Drive belts, also known as serpentine belts, direct engine power to accessory systems. As these belts wear, they become frayed and brittle and start to screech as they rotate.
  • Humming, growling or roaring. Your tires may be deformed, the tread is worn down, or there may be a bad wheel bearing.

Remember: Neglecting needed auto repair services can quickly cause more costly damage. Find an auto repair shop you can trust for quality service before you actually need one!
